What we collect, where it lives, and how to get rid of it.
What we collect
Only what skim. needs to work: the topic or file you bring, the persona you describe (who you are, your goal, your situation), and the session data we generate from it — your lesson, tests, cheatsheet, flashcards, and voice recap.
Where it lives
Sessions and any uploaded files are stored with Supabase, our database and storage provider. Files go into a private bucket. If you create an account, your saved sessions are tied to it so you can pick them back up.
Payments
Payments are handled by Stripe. Card details go straight to Stripe — skim. never sees or stores them. We only keep a record that a payment happened.
We don't sell your data
Your content and personal data are never sold, rented, or handed to advertisers. We don't use what you upload to train AI models.
Deleting your data
Signed in? Delete your account from your profile and your sessions go with it. Anonymous session, or want a clean wipe? Ask us and we'll remove it. Uploaded files are tied to their session and removed alongside it.
Third parties
Lessons are generated using Anthropic's Claude API. The content needed to build your lesson is sent there to produce it, and not used by us for anything else.
This reflects how skim. works today and may change as the product does.
